Why we are not selling in China ? #CRUELTYFREEBEAUTY

We do not test on animals ever

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about selling in China so we’ve decided to address this today.

If you’re new to the issue, China has notoriously always had an animal testing requirement for cosmetics manufactured within the country, however this was lifted on June 30th 2014, a huge, positive step for beauty brands.

Unfortunately, this requirement was not lifted for cosmetics that are manufactured outside of China. What this means is that beauty brands must abide by the animal testing law (yes, it’s a law!) if they decide to sell in China. In addition, though the requirement has been lifted for locally made cosmetics; the practice of testing on animals has not actually been banned. There is a plethora of companies which, are therefore, only cruelty-free in certain countries rather than being a fully cruelty-free brand.

We currently do not sell any of our hair oil or beard oil products in China and in order to keep our status of being a cruelty-free brand pledge not to sell anywhere which requires mandatory animal testing.

We love animals. We might like to dress a dog up (who wouldn’t) but we would never go near any animal with cosmetics. ? Beauty without bunnies, for life.
